    serious impulse for the 29/240

Posted by Jim Hinton on 2nd Dec 2018

This is the most recent and most powerful load available for the 29/240 casing. I've flown a lot of these, I started using them when Aerotech introduced them several years ago. This load burns quite hot and requires use of the seal disc. I usually see these burn through the fiberglass grain liner in a place or two. Some of the early versions of this motor had some issues, but all of these loads that I have used over the past five years have ignited readily and operated without problems. This load works well in rockets that are about two pounds, generally with a ten second delay.

Best Leap Off the Pad in the AeroTech RMS 29/240 Form Factor

While not quite the highest climber in the RMS 29/240 field (the White Lightning H180W takes that honor), this Mojave Green motor gets up to speed faster than any of the other reloads for this casing, Faster acceleration means that when even a heavy bird clears the rail pointed in the intended direction, that the fins have enough persuasion in keeping her headed that same way. My 1300 gram, 1.45-meter Mach Schnell HL-e, a 38mm Blue Tube, scratch-built, dual-deploy screamer, rose to just shy of 3000 feet on the H250G. The fast climb helped ensure a straight-as-an-arrow, emerald-tailed streak to apogee, keeping the rocket well inside the park from launch to landing (and the club RSO smiling).
